Jeremy J. Johnson, PharmD, PhD
Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Assistant Head for Research in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Most recently he was awarded a MERIT award from the NIH-National Cancer Institute (NCI) for his work on the mangosteen fruit and cancer.
He received his PharmD and PhD from the University of Wisconsin (UW). During his training at UW he completed an NIH CTSA Fellowship to evaluate natural products for cancer prevention. He is also a licensed pharmacist and is especially interested in the clinical development of plant extracts and phytochemicals to improve health.
Since 2007, his research has been continuously funded with support from the National Institutes of Health, the USDA, the American Cancer Society, as well as non-profit organizations. This funding includes pre-clinical and clinical research projects.
Dr. Johnson has been invited to present his research around the world including the Pasteur Institute in Paris, University of Vienna, Central South University in China, Hunan Medical University in China, University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, and Erciyes University in Kayseri, Turkey. In addition, he has presented his research at conferences in Rome, London, Istanbul, and Vienna.
